Terrick Gutierrez (b. 1994) is an LA-based interdisciplinary artist, creative technologist, activist, and storyteller.

Growing up in South Central LA, Terrick began to draw at an early age as a form of escape. Keenly observant, he recognized the unique circumstances that he was presented with as a young Black male. In many ways, his work is a visual autobiography that reflects the struggle and resilience of his youth. In other ways, his work is imaginative, exploring and celebrating the beautiful richness of Blackness.

Going to college on a full-ride scholarship as a Gates Millennium Scholar gave Terrick the opportunity to explore art as a form of healing. His ability to physically leave certain environments while being educated at the historic Morehouse College allowed him to unlearn and unpack the many ways in which he had been conditioned to view the world and, equally, himself.

Terrick received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in art from Morehouse College in 2017 and his Master of Professional Studies in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University in 2019. He has exhibited in Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles and is in private collections on the East and West Coast.
